Typ’s grandma’s 70th birthday was a momentous occasion that brought together family, friends, and well-wishers to celebrate her life and legacy. The grand celebration took place on the 29th of November and was filled with joy, laughter, and spiritual nourishment.
The day’s events kicked off with a Eucharistic mass, beautifully celebrated by Rev Canon Mutasa at 10:30 am. The Reverend’s words brought hope and inspiration to all in attendance, wishing Typ’s grandma many more years of good health and happiness.
Following the mass, as the family and friends we took turns giving speeches, sharing fond memories and words of appreciation for our Grandma. Representatives from the TYP family and TYP trustees expressed their gratitude and love for the birthday girl, highlighting her strength and resilience.
The Ugandan ladies added a touch of cultural flair to the celebration, presenting our grandma with gifts, flowers, and a stunning cake. The room erupted in song as everyone joined in to sing a happy birthday song, complete with music and dance moves.
MC Rev Mutasa gave a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all who had contributed to the celebration and not forgetting to mention the presence of Rev Motsi and Friar Joshua. Typ’s grandma was visibly moved as she received love and well-wishes from all corners.
The celebration continued with a delicious lunch, accompanied by engaging story time sessions. The Ugandan ladies treated the gathering to a captivating performance, showcasing their rich cultural heritage.
As the event drew to a close, the family gathered for group photos, capturing memories that will be treasured for years to come. The program came to an end at 4:30 pm, but the joy and warmth of the celebration will linger in the hearts of all who attended.
