ANNUAL RETREAT-2019

THEME -STANDING OUT; IN STEP WITH GOD, OUT OF STEP WITH THE WORLD

As you might know that our year ends in the month of August every year and we end our beautiful year with an annual retreat. However, it is that time of the year yet again where we have our wonderful, amazing, incredible and blissful annual retreat. This year our retreat was held on the 24th August and our theme was standing out; in step with God out of step with the world. .We spent our special day fasting and praying which simply means voluntarily going without food in order to focus on prayer and fellowship with God, but the process of this whole event was not only about abstaining from food but rather to take our eyes off the things of this world and force ourselves to focus and rely on God for strength, provision, and wisdom.

The background to our theme is that we are bombarded continuously with negative information from radio, television, newspapers magazines and in our daily interactions with others we spend most of our time feeding our minds and spirit with what we hear and see on social media and this has greatly and unconsciously affected not only our behavior but our journey with the Christ. We all know that it is not easy to rise above the flood of this negativity that engulfs us but it is absolutely essential to do so if we want to keep our spirit up and our minds clear and positive and the key components to achieve this is reflection, self-examination, self-introspection, and meditation to mention but a few and these are the solid foundations for fasting and prayer. and by so doing we will be able to live a life that is more productive, fruitful and fulfilling life- hence our theme standing out; in step with God and out of step with the world. Below are the photos we took on a prayer mountain…

We would give many thanks to our trustees, donors, and supporters of this family for their profound generosity by making this event come to existence so as to better the lives of young people here at TYP we are truly grateful.

THANK YOU

Thandie
