The universal joy of Christmas is certainly wonderful. Nations have their red-letter days, their carnivals and festivals, but once in a year and only once, the whole world stand still to celebrate the advent of life. Christmas is not a time or season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and good will, to be plenteous in mercy is to have the real spirit of Christmas.
The 9th of December was a wonderful day for TYP family as we had our Christ party for 2017. The 2017 Christmas party was only for TYP family members. The mass started at around 10:00 A.M with an aspiring and encouraging words from Fr Nicholas Stebbing. The reading of the Christmas party was from the book of Luke1. Fr Nicholas’ preaching was about the importance of Virgin Mary to the Christian society. She was the only way through which God could bring salvation to the world. She agreed to be a vessel for the Lord. He emphasized that, God came down from heaven, by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate of the Virgin Mary and was made man, hence Mary is the Mother to all Christian believers. He said that, it is now a time to celebrate the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ. It was a powerful sermon from Fr Nicholas.
After the mass, lunch was served to everyone. The food was so delicious that everyone enjoyed it. It was a good time for TYP family. At around 3:00 P.M, we indulged into singing Christmas carols with our Baba (Rev. Mutasa) and Rev. Motsi leading. This stained everyone’s memory because it was like a mountain top experience. We all enjoyed singing the never ending Gloooooooooooooooooooriiiaaa.
We want to thank the Almighty God for making the day possible as we celebrated the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
